Re: Dynamic VLAN based on username

When a user reaches captive portal, the VLAN is set.  You can attempt to change it through authentication, but there is nothing to indicate to a client that the VLAN changed, so it will not re-ip and will not get a new ip address.

tl;dr VLAN changes on a Captive Portal typically do not work and are not a good idea.

Others have tried to do things like have an initial VLAN that has a very short dhcp scope, but it does not work 100% and is not worth the effort.
