Hardware requirements Aruba OS

    Hi,

     

    Looking what are the Hardware requirements for Aruba OS. If you have for example only one Access Point, can the other features or services can run from the cloud or do we need HW. I am working out lite solution with minimal HW reusing existing customer switches (cisco, commtrend, starbridge etc.)

     

    What Aruba OS features needs a controller or cloud controller ?

    Merdian funtionalities need extra HW ? (extra HW for sure are beacons)

    Clearpass features needs extra HW?

    Aruba central do we need extra HW ?

    An Aruba Instant access point can run without a controller. You can manage it locally, with AirWave (on-premise VM or HW) or with Central (cloud-bases subscription).

    ClearPass runs on premise with either a physical or virtual appliance.
