    Hello,

The access point models with external antennal, for example IAP-104, we have to configure the ap's antennas 6 db for 2.4 gHz and 5 db for gHz. Do we need to do the same with IAP-175(in fact external antenna settings is independant from being Instant or Campus for the ap)? Are the gain values in dB are same with the 104 model?

The gain values depends on the antennas i think. Not on the APs. So if you use the same antennas, you have to use the same gain values. But another one should confirm this.

    Greetings

    Hi Gordon,

Thanks for your reply. The antennas are omni directional antennas. Antennas are 2005 for 2.4 gHz band and 5005 for 5 gHz band. If I'm not wrong the last digit at those numbers indicates the gain of antennas.

Yes, I'm using the 2x2-D805 and the last digit indicates the gain value too. The datasheet of your antennas tell me that you have the same value (5005: 4.9–5.875GHz(5dBi), 2005: 2.4 – 2.5 GHz (5 dBi))

Then I have to enter 5 dB for both type of antennas from the interface to configure the external antennas right?

    Yes, you're right!
