Moving M3 Controllers to Another Slot

  • 1.  Moving M3 Controllers to Another Slot

    I have two configured M3 controllers running in slots 0 and 1 of the 6000 chassis.   

     

    1) If I move the M3 from slot 1 to slot 2 or 3 without making any configuration changes, will it continue to operate properly?  

    2) If I move the M3 from slot 1 to slot 1 of another 6000 chassis without making any configuration changes, will it continue to operate properly.  Slot 0 is always populated.

     

     I ask becasue the port designations are different in each slot.

    For option 1, the physical ports will change and you will have to reconfigure accordingly.

     

    For option 2, there should be no configuration changes required since you are using the same slot in both chassis.
