    Hi,

    So I bought a A200 wireless controller for testing purposes. When I received it, it did not have an image on it. I have tried using kermit to load a new image but fails at 56 packets and 3k of the file. Every single time. It says error exceeded.  I have tired to set it up below is my printenv output.

    cpboot> printenv
    bootcmd=boot flash
    bootdelay=2
    baudrate=9600
    stdin=serial
    stdout=serial
    stderr=serial
    ipaddr=10.0.3.99
    dns=10.0.2.2
    netmask=255.255.255.0
    gatewayip=10.0.3.1
    server=10.0.1.4

    ping results:

    cpboot> ping 10.0.3.1
    ARP broadcast 1 for 10.0.3.1
    sibyte#0: tx buffer not transmitted
    ARP broadcast 2 for 10.0.3.1
    sibyte#0: tx error, buffer not ready

    Bootup info:

    Hi,

    The code version is A200_5.0.4.15_41905 and for the tftp server it is just a windows box with tftpd32 running. I know everything is setup correctly outside of the aruba controller. I am really new to aruba equipment and could not find any good documents about the A200. Any help is very much appreciated.

    Got that. Image version seems to be good. I have attached PDF for upgrading the image from cpboot.

    It looks the parameter for the serverip is not taken properly as i could see only server and no serverip.

    cpboot> printenvbootcmd=boot flashbootdelay=2baudrate=9600

    ipaddr=10.0.3.99dns=10.0.2.2

    netmask=255.255.255.0

    gatewayip=10.0.3.1

    server=10.0.1.4 ===================> this should be serverip

    stdin=serialstdout=serialstderr=serial

    Could you please input below parameter and try again

    cpboot > setenv serverip <ip address of the tftp server>

    Thank you,

    Sriram

    Ok so I tried that but now I am getting another error: it is below

    cpboot> upgrade 0 A200_5.0.4.15_41905
    ARP broadcast 1 for 0.0.0.0
    ARP broadcast 2 for 0.0.0.0

    Retry count exceeded; starting again
    ARP broadcast 1 for 0.0.0.0
    ARP broadcast 2 for 0.0.0.0

    Abort
    cpboot> ping 10.0.1.4
    ARP broadcast 1 for 0.0.0.0
    ARP broadcast 2 for 0.0.0.0

    Retry count exceeded; starting again
    ARP broadcast 1 for 0.0.0.0
    ARP broadcast 2 for 0.0.0.0

    Retry count exceeded; starting again
    ARP broadcast 1 for 0.0.0.0

    Abort
    cpboot>

    Below is the results from the printenv :

    cpboot> printenv
    bootcmd=boot flash
    bootdelay=2
    baudrate=9600
    ipaddr=10.0.3.99
    gateway=10.0.3.1

    Also i could  notice gatewayip and serverip is different. you may need to set the serverip in the same subnet like "10.0.3.5" for example. Also what device the serverip going to be here ?

    You could setting up the serverip as your computer plugged into to the controller console and try to put  them on same vlan in the range of 10.0.3.x

    ipaddr=10.0.3.99
    dns=10.0.2.2
    netmask=255.255.255.0
    gatewayip=10.0.3.1
    server=10.0.1.4

    I guess I am not understanding how this is suppose to be setup. I currently only have an A200 mobility controller and a AP125. I both connected to a cisco swtich and are on the same vlan. I thought the serverip was just for the TFTP server. That is a windows computer.

    What do you mean "What device the serverip going to be"? do I need some sort of server to run everything. IS there any good documentation out there for all of this. I have not been able to find anything.

    Thank you for all your help.

    Thanks for reply I just want to confirm who holds the ip address of the tftp server. Your below comments confirms that`s going to be your windows computer running a tftp server where image has been hosted.

    Find below note. You can also call TAC support hotline to help you out.

    cpboot>setenv serverip x.x.x.x

    cpboot>setenv ipaddr x.x.x.x

    cpboot>setenv netmask x.x.x.x

    cpboot>setenv gatewayip x.x.x.x

    cpboot>setenv serverip x.x.x.x      (note: if you are running the tftp program on the same PC then the gatewayip and serverip should be same)

    Thank you.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was able to load the image onto the device.

    Would you happen to either have or know where I could find some good documents on this device and code version. I have been unable to find anything really good and worth reading.
