Poor quality of 5GHz channels

    Hi all,

    we are facing issue with flapping channels in 5 GHz band. "show ap arm history " command shows following:

    So as  you can see, quality of some channels is very poor. I have made also spectrum analyzes and there is no big noice or even channels are not loaded. As you can see from outputs I have also changed power setting to 15 dBm (2019-03-03 15:33:01 108+ 108+ 18 15 P-), but still channels are not stable.

     

    Do you have any idea, why quality is poor on 5 GHz, please.

    this is IAP enviroment with just 6 APs in cluster with some neighboring ubiquity APs.

    ARM config is:

    You should set Wide Channels to "none" to use 20 mhz channels to see if you can reduce contention.

    If the channel is unstable, try reducing the signal strength. You need to know how much distance is between Ap and AP or what interference factors are there.

    Signal strengt in you ARM profile is set to minimum 18dbm (63mw) thats seems like very high to me. Try to set max-tx to 15dbm (30mw). And min-tx to 10mw or so.

    Other thing you could try is to lower your 5ghz bandwidth to 20mhz and avoid the use of channels with bad channels due to possible interference.

    Hello guys,

    regarding decreasing of power to 15 dBm, it was already done before, but no improvement.

     

    Regarding to disabling wide channels, I have done it also, but still quality ofchannels is not so good.

    As I have said earlier I have done also spectrum analysis and 5 GHz spectrum is clear and not loaded at all.

    As you can see, for example channels 132, 136, 140 are very loaded, even base to spectrum analyzes no AP has those channels assigned.
