QoS: Can APs identify and mark traffic?

    Hello Airheads,

For traffic that is originating from the client and destined towards the controller/IP network, I am wondering if APs have the ability to identify and mark traffic (based on destination), and then apply that marking to the GRE header for transit to the controller?

I am aware that if the client presents a WMM marking, that traffic gets dscp marking in the GRE header, but I'm wondering about traffic that does NOT have a WMM marking, and instead is matching some sort of qualifier/ACL, like destination IP.

I am running 335 APs in campus mode and a 7220 controller running 6.5.3.4

    Thanks!

In tunnel mode, traffic is only recognized, decrypted or can be acted on at the controller after it has been tunneled though the access point.  You would not be able to do anything with non-wmm traffic until it hits the controller.
