RAP not responding to pings or passing traffic

I have noticed that A site with a couple of RAPs has one that is not responding to pings. There are clients associated, the ARP table is populated, it is up on the controller and passing back management info.

Clients have static IPs and cannot be pinged.

This is not the first time I have seen this on this controller, any ideas?

    The controller is a 3600 running 6.1.3.5.

    #3600

What IP are you trying to ping ? Outer or inner ip ?

Are you trying from controller ?

Can you see the users on the user-table ? Are these windows devices ?

The inner IP responds to pings but the outer does not. Pings fail from any part of the network controller or PCs. There a number of different users - all flavours, including ones with DHCP addresses as well as the static ones, bridge and split-tunnel SSIDs.

Do you have any  ACL rules apply to your controller interfaces that might be blocking this traffic (ICMP)?

Can you please open two ssh sessions one to run the ping and the other to run the show datapath session table <ip address> while you are pinging ? and see if the controller is blocking it ?

    Victor,

I dont think the traffic is passing through the controller - as this is a RAP105 on a remote site the traffic is just passing over the normal wired infrastructure. The client devices are on a bridged SSID and are not passing any traffic either.

Would ACLs affect pings to the RAPs IP address?.

The device we were looking at rebootstrapped and is now operating normally, however we have seen this on other RAPs and still need to understand why this happened - am still looking for help with this one.
