    Hello,

I have a 5 story dorm building with AP dense deployment. (1) AP-325 for each dorm room. Each dorm room accomodate 4 students. Per floor we have 26 rooms. On avg we have 26 AP per floor.

When i check the RF neighbors of an AP it seems the AP have too many neighbors. The neighbors are in a different channel (5Ghz) but in the 2.4 Ghz (we have to re-use channels).

    #show ap arm neighbors ap-name Commons_202 . (2nd Floor AP #2)

The access point have at least 6 neighbors with high SNR. The power is set for 5Ghz (9 to 18) and for 2.4Ghz (6 to 9). Should i enable Mode Aware Arm in the 2.4Ghz to disable some 2.4 radios? I checked the channel utilization several times during the day and there is no major issues.

The 2nd Floor Access Point is able to hear 1 AP in the 1st Floor, 3 AP in the second Floor, and two AP in the 3rd Floor. My concern is the student's device will bounce between APs or Roam, even if there is an AP in the room.

    Thank you

    Nils.

How do you have the power levels configured under the ARM profile?

Do you guys conducted a post wireless survey ?

The power levels in the arm profile are configured as:

    5Ghz

    (min 9 max 18 dBm)

    2.4Ghz

    (Min 6 max 9 dBm)

Student are currently finishing exams, we are planning to conduct a survey next week.

The issues reported were: random disconnects and slowness roaming using mobile devices.

    1. I verified the DHCP pool and we are not running out of ip addresses. Lease time is set to 1 hr.

    2. I verified the VAP settings and dont see any misconfiguration. Low data rates are uncheked, client match disable, channel spectrum load balancing disable, band stearing disable, drop BC/MC is enable.

    3. We are using Clearpass as the authentication server. From the controller there is 140ms response time.

We recently migrated from AP-135 to AP-325 and using code 6.4.4.8

    Thank you Victor.
