Good day.  I am pretty new to the wireless world and would appreciate some SNR clarificaiton in regards to AP's and wireless clients.  When viewing a particular clients SNR value within the "clients" dashboard on a wireless controller, I see a value of 10.  Now is that value of how the AP views the SNR value in regards to the signal coming from the wireless client, or is that a value that is being reported by the controller of how the wireless client views the signal strenght from the AP?  If this is the value reported of how the AP see's the signal strenght received from the client, the only way to really determine the received signal at the wireless client from the AP would be to use a wireless monitoring tool installed on the client?  Thanks in advance.

How the AP views the client signal strength.

Thanks for the insight.  So if this is the case, and the SNR value is 10, and we know that the physical AP installation in a particular warehouse is not optimal resulting in the low SNR, the only real way to raise the SNR value and provide a better wireless experience for the customer would be to physically install additional AP's in the area where service is subpar at best?  More than likely, boosting the transmit power of the AP without modifying the physical installation would not necessarily improve wireless service due to low signal being received at the AP from the wireless client?

    - The signal strength of the client is only reported every 60 seconds.  You would have to keep a client stationary for more than a minute to see the true signal strength reflected

    - Weak client signal strength could mean that the client is holding onto the wrong access point very long, so make sure you put a client in the desired area for two minutes and ensure that it is connecting the the correct access point for that area.
