    Hi,

We recently got an Aruba 7005 controller and few AP's 225(11AC) and AP-514(11AX) for testing purposes.

In order to use the latest 514 11AX AP's, we need to upgrade to 8.4 OS.

The default OS is 6.5.1.4 on the Controller.

What is the best approach to upgrade this controller? I read that you need a migration tool to upgrade but could not get a step to step procedure.

Can we just upgrade using WebUI under maintenance and locate the FW file?

This is a brand new controller without any settings/config on it. It will just be a standalone controller with a few AP's connected

Upgrading to 6.x to 8.x you will have to wipe the configuration.  If there is nothing on there, just upgrade and start from scratch.

Best way to start from scratch. Before you start create a backup and a “show run”. The show run could be used as reference for example to recreate your ACL policies 😊.
