We currently have a standalone 7210 master that hosts campus AP's as well as 40 or 50 RAP's. For redundancy we just purchased a second 7210 and will be adding it to the mix in a VRRP/master-standby configuration on the same network as the primary.  I get the configuration of the VRRP and pointing all AP's and RAP's at the VIP, however what I don't understand is how to configure the new controller.  After peering it to the master will it assume the running configuration, or will it need to be configured identically manually?  What about the L3 interfaces on the controller? (guest network, AP network, etc.).

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Instructions on how to configure a standby master are here:  "http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_63_Web_Help/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/VRRP/Redundancy_Parameters.htm"

See the section on "Configuring the Master Controller for Redundancy"

The backup master will obtain the global config once the master redundancy is configured.

The layer 3 interfaces on the backup master, as well as the VLANs are part of the local configuration and need to be established separately.
