    Firewall visibility enables the Firewall Monitoring page on the dashboard.

     

    DPI, or deep packet inspection, is a component of the AppRF feature on the firewall itself.

    If I only enable firewall visibility, can I implement policy control for the application?

    You can police applications such as ftp or imap without enabling DPI. For applications that run within a common transport protocol, you would need to also enable DPI to police that traffic.
