In there a way to change  this default time which is of 8 hours in the controller inthe new releases? to 1 hour

Or if the new instant sofltware got something similar???

Clearpass is not an option its too expensive for the client, and the other brand quoting can do it without any external solftware...

This one of the most important things that this client wants...

    Cheers

    Carlos

You cannot set the default, but you can set the maximum that can be created

    (192.168.1.3) (config) #local-userdb ?
maximum-expiration Set the maximum length of time that a guest account
                            can be valid

Well it works just fine but the client creating the account would need to have full accesss to the controller

    accountduration2.JPG

I see that i cannot do that on the normal ticket manager system here

    account duration.JPG

That would be the drawback... the one that is creting the access need to have full access to the controller? :(

    Cheers

yeah, unfortunately when you change the max expiry to be less than the default, it doesn't change on the provisioning page and that error is thrown up.

ahhh come on aruba... you should add that button to the ticket creation platform....

I have many clients asking me that...specially the ones that are coffee stores, and stuff like that....

They really need that. and its really important to them... the clearpass its just too expensive for that type of client...

    Nightshade1,

Exactly what kind of functionality do you want?  Many small organizations just use a single username and password and maybe change it daily.  What does this organization want?

They do not want to one account for everyone.

They want that each user just got 1 hour of internet...

The other thing i loose is the ticket print... :(  there is no create a print... sigh that s no good..

How many administrators will be provisioning these accounts?  Will it be tons of secretaries, etc?

This can be scripted on the commandline by an admin and slips of paper can be handed printed out and handed to users:

    (192.168.1.3) #local-userdb-guest add generate-username generate-password expiry duration 60

    GuestConnect
    Username: guest-7280314
    Password: kJhf6835
    Start date: Tue May 13 11:34:00 2014

    Expiration: 60 minutes

    (192.168.1.3) #local-userdb-guest add generate-username generate-password expiry duration 60

    GuestConnect
    Username: guest-5884669
    Password: ECje1141
    Start date: Tue May 13 11:34:00 2014

    Expiration: 60 minutes

    (192.168.1.3) #local-userdb-guest add generate-username generate-password expiry duration 60

each cashier of each coffee store  must be able to do this really easy...

For example if this was possible through web.... then he would just need to click generate generate  create and print...

    Buts that not possible

The other IT should not be involved... in any way... that was another requirement...

The other vendor can do the same but on the console he has the print button... i dont have it with this method :(

    Nightshade1,

How many coffee shops are there?  How big is this deployment?

There are like 8 Coffee stores...

They dont have thousands of coffee stores like starbucks...

Thats why i said a clearpass is not an option for theml... the controller is okay.

    Cheers

i do see that on the guest manager homepage

But on the guest manager homepage im not able to put 60 minutes

Im able to put 60 minutes on the aruba controller on the admin manager... but im not able to print there...

I know that you could just create the user on the aruba manager and then log in with the guest user to print but thats too many steps... and what the client desire is something really really simple... as they told me the cashier should not be wasting too much time on it less than one minute...

Which would be great  if he just could  click generate, generate and print.

    Cheers

    Carlos

I just realize how the client could do it really fast...  but the cashier would need to log in with an administrative account... which has access to everything ont he controller thats the bad thing...

IS there a way to put here  the default role  as guest automatically? without selecting it???account duration.JPG
