Hello Airheads,
I have a customer that is trying to provide coverage to a freezer in a warehouse as well as a small portion of the warehouse floor itself. He's not trying to cover a lot of area/sqft, but he is trying to accomplish this with a single AP (IAP-228-US) and two antennas.
Now, he doesn't want to have to do 2.4Ghz in one area (say, the freezer) and 5Ghz in the other area (the warehouse floor)... instead, he hopes to use two AP-ANT-35A antennas BUT NOT connect them each to a SINGLE radio... instead, he wants to connect each AP-ANT-35A to BOTH radios - then, place one AP-ANT-35A in the freezer and one on the warehouse floor.
So, AP-ANT-35A #1 would have one antenna cable connected to the 2.4Ghz radio and another to the 5Ghz radio - the third pigtail would remain unused.
Then. AP-ANT-35A #2 would have one antenna cable connected to the 2.4Ghz radio and another to the 5Ghz radio - again, the third pigtail would remain unused.
Hope this makes sense.
I know this is a poor design choice, but will it work?
And, if so, what issues may he expect?
Ultimately, I hope to have him purchase a second access point, but he's in a pinch due to budget.
Thanks in advance!
