    Goog afternoon,

I'm going to buy an Aruba 6100 48G Class4 PoE 4SFP+ 370W Switch (JL675A). I need to know if there is any ARUBA SFP
BIDIRECTIONAL 1GB for a distance of 60 Km?

    Many thanks

    Arnold.

It might be worth checking 3rd party options.  For example here are two from fs.com which claim to support HPE switches and do BiDi 1G rated to 80km.  Are you buying optics for both ends of the link or do you need to match an optic at the far end?

    Hello Kudos,

    I'm buying optics for both ends of the link  but i need to know if they can work fine in a switch Aruba 6100 48G Class4 PoE 4SFP+ 370W Switch (JL675A) that will be connected to a HP - JL658A - Aruba 6300M - Switch - L3 - managed - 24 x 1 Gigabit / 10 Gigabit SFP+ + 4 x 1 Gigabit / 10 Gigabit / 25 Gigabit / 50 Gigabit SFP56.

    Best regards.

Hi Luis, check yourself by looking here:

That is the AOS-Switch and AOS-CX Transceivers and DACs guide (Edition 12).

You should be able to understand if a particular Aruba/HPE Transceiver is supported by a particular Aruba Switch model (with annotated restrictions and/or requirements).

Shouldn't be too difficult to verify if a specific Aruba/HPE Tranceiver (say a SKU for a LR ER, as example) is supported on both ends of the fiber optic link.

Wasn't the OP request (this thread) cross-posted? There are three threads with -  more or less - the very same request!

    Hi Mr. Parnassus,

please you help, i think to buy an Aruba 6300 switch and Aruba 6100 switch to connect them via SFP BIDI 1G but i see that it's not officially supported. See below.

Hi Parnassus, please your help, 01 Switch Aruba 3810M 16SFP+ 2-slot (JL075A) y 01 switch Moxa Modelo EDS-508A (last one doesn´t have SFP ports, only Ethernet ports 10/100 Mbps), then i would have to use a Media Converter. The question is, Can both switches work fine?. Because someone told me that switches Moxa doesn´t work with switches Aruba.

    Best regards.

Hi Luis, the Aruba 3810M 16SFP+ 2-slot (JL075A) supports up to 16 SFP/SFP+ Transceivers so the lowest speed you can reach over a fiber optic link using those ports is 1 Gbps when equipped with a SFP LC Transceiver (LC SX, LC LX or LC LR types), not less...it means that any other peer switch could be connected to this particular Aruba should use another SFP LC Transceiver (of the same type) directly or - if the peer switch doesn't support SFP - indirectly via a necessary Media Gateway (1 Gbps Fiber to RJ45 Copper 1GBASE-T, as example). Given that I don't see any particular blocking issue.

Hi Luis, out of curiosity what are you trying to achieve? I see various thread with shifting subjects (starting asking about interconnecting switches via 60 km optical link and ending asking about peering with a industrial Moxa switch using its RJ45 Copper with 5 meters long Cat.6 Patch...see here). So how many things are you mixing in a two threads? this is not useful...
